MEET THE CREATOR
My name is Anda and I am the person behind the Avrilie brand. I have always been interested in fashion and art, and have been creating things with my own hands since I was a child. It all started at the age of 13, when I decided to make my own clothes. I couldn't have done it without my beloved grandmother, who was as enthusiastic as I was about my little project and was willing to help me. She had a huge old Singer sewing machine in the corner of the living room for as long as I could remember, and I was always fascinated to watch her work on it. I was so happy that it was finally my turn to use it! My grandmother is no longer here, but the machine still exists at my parents' house, like an heirloom.
THE BRAND
During the pandemic, I moved to France to follow my darling to his country of origin. I gave birth to a beautiful baby boy (in April!) who made me fall in love with the world of babies. And like that, the desire to create came back to me, like it was obvious! I wanted to create something that represents me, something where I could choose exactly the colors and the universe that I like. Something eco-responsible and unique. Something that would make other mothers as happy as I was when I was creating things for my baby.
Avrilie comes from the combination of the words "avril" in French and "aprilie" in Romanian. It seemed obvious to me that my brand should be called that. This is how Avrilie was born. In April, a year after my son was born and my life changed for the better.
